| 13 | Two days, the 27th and 28th, we went on the Ob River, wonderful spaces; had such talks, |

| 15 | hot. Poor Mother suffered terribly. When we arrived in Barnaul, the steamer which was |

| 16 | supposed to take us over from our boat did not arrive; so it took the whole next day in |

| 17 | Barnaul, up to three o’clock in the morning, until the other boat came and took us over. |

| 18 | It is getting cooler, the sea level is rising. A tremendous river is the Ob and so wide. |
